FirePro (QLD) 2012 Christmas Party

FirePro’s Christmas party was held in not so sunny weather on November 17th at Kingston Park Raceway.  The team at Kingston Park were not prepared for the what was about to hit them as the FirePro team entered the track. The rain began on the first lap which caused a slippery track and many bruises but did not dampen the FirePro team spirit. After 2 hours of racing the team were tired and very damp, thankfully a delcious BBQ and some shade were awaiting us as we left the track. There were many bets on as to whom would take out the top 3 spots on the podium, but the Sunderland brothers took out the top 2 spots. In 1st place was Dean Sunderland, 2nd Shaun Sunderland and 3rd Shane Price.

Firepro (Qld) 2012 Tennis Grand Slam

FirePro’s 3rd Annual Grand Slam was held in beautiful weather on September  1st. The semi’s saw last year’s runner up, Tim Norris gave GM J9 a good run around, but she took it well & he is still on the payroll!! It was a fight to the end in the Final, with Tim bowing out graciously to Ellen Hepburn’s strong forehand. Thanks to all our employees and associates for a great day of rivalry, fun and fitness. Top marks to master chef Kim Carmichael who excelled at the BBQ.

2011 Queensland Training Awards - State Finalists

2011 has been a particularly tough year for Queenslanders, however it also marks 50 years of Queensland Training Awards. On Saturday 26 July, FirePro (Qld) attended the South East Qld Regional Awards Dinner at the Jupiters Casino, Broadbeach, as a finalist for the second year running. This year we were fortunate enough to take out the category for 'Small Employer of the Year'.

Further shortlisting from all seven regions placed FirePro (Qld) in the top 3 in our state and secured us as a State finalist for 2011.

Training is paramount to the long term success of any business and particularly beneficial in times of depressed economic stability. FirePro(Qld) are immensely proud of our achievements in providing a workplace where all employees may further their skills, take pride in their trade and develop both themselves and our company as a leader in our industry.

FirePro (Qld) 2011 Tennis Grand Slam

Great weather and some fierce competition made for another successful day at the FirePro (Qld) Tennis Grand Slam at the Beenleigh Tennis Courts on 2nd July 2011. Our grand final came down to Tim and Les (2010 winner). After a tiring match, it was Les who came out on top again as the winner for the 2nd year in a row. This year we had trophies to acknowledge their triumphs and Les also received a night away in Brisbane, many thanks to Sean Brophy our Fire Safety trainer. There are already rumours of some wanting to sneak in extra training for next years' grand slam and enforcing the hard courts to slow Les down!

2011 South East Qld Floods

The recent floods in January last year has devasted many across South East Queensland. FirePro (Qld) has seen first-hand, the extensive damage that has been done to hundreds of business properties and are currently at the forefront of assisting in the many repairs required to the fire protection systems.

Many clients have had their basements and lower levels of buildings inundated with water, causing major damage to pump control rooms, smoke & heat detection systems and evacuation components. In some cases this has made them uninhabitable, even after the clean-up process, due to strict fire safety requirements in these buildings. FirePro (Qld) has been working diligently with property owners and body corporate managers to get as many systems back online and operational as soon as possible.

If you require assistance in getting your fire systems back into operational status please contact FirePro (Qld) on (07) 3807 9988 and we can have a technician attend your site promptly to provide you with a full on-site assessment of the works required.
